Cow Meadow Park

This 150-acre park/preserve in Freeport on the South Shore shows off Long Island’s marine wetlands and includes salt marsh, mud flat and tidal creek habitats that are home to more than 150 varieties of birds. In addition to playing sports under the lights, you can fish year-round from a pier or work out on the mile-long jogging course. The marina has about 30 boat slips.
