“SUMMER NEXT DOOR” Campaign Offers Enticing Incentives To Tourists

Posted on Monday, June 29, 2009

Nassau County, June 29 – To enable visitors to enjoy Nassau County’s spectacular beaches, parks, and preserves more than ever, the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) recently launched the exciting “Summer Next Door” campaign. From now until mid-September, some of Nassau County’s most outstanding hotels are offering a hard-to-resist deal: visitors who stay one night get the second night for 50% off.

The “Summer Next Door – 50% off second night stay” hotel participants include the Andrew Hotel in Great Neck, Fairfield Inn Syosset, Four Points By Sheraton Plainview, the Garden City Hotel, the Roslyn Claremont, Inn at Great Neck, The Inn at Fox Hollow in Woodbury, and the Glen Cove Mansion.

In addition to offering unparalleled service and top-of-the-line facilities, all of these hotels are conveniently located near Nassau County’s natural wonders. Its magnificent beaches include Jones Beach, one of the most popular beaches in the world; Long Beach, a surfing paradise that can be reached by the Long Island Railroad; and Nickerson Beach, widely known as a fantastic family beach. Nassau County is the home of the world-famous Bethpage Black golf course, where the 2009 U.S. Open was recently held.

The County also offers more than 40 parks, preserves, and campgrounds with facilities for swimming, boating, fishing, mountain biking, archery, handball, roller skating, picnicking, model boating, and miniature golf, as well as three eighteen-hole golf courses at Eisenhower Park. In addition, Nassau County offers the ultimate in luxury: first class dining, relaxing spas, and great shopping, from the sprawling Roosevelt Field mall to the upscale Americana Manhasset to quaint seaside villages chockfull of antiques and specialty shops.

The “Summer Next Door” campaign is an outgrowth of the IDA’s "Island of Possibilites" campaign, which started a year ago. In addition to working with Nassau County’s hotels, the IDA has launched an integrated marketing campaign, comprised of online advertising, radio, direct response and outdoor, including a billboard just outside the Midtown Tunnel that is designed to attract visitors by extolling Nassau County’s incredible beaches, special events, great shopping, and other attractions just minutes from Times Square.
